How is it July already?! This week's What's On includes info about events over the next week or so, and how to navigate our peak time on the mountain.
It seems like we opened for the winter just yesterday, and here we are in July! We're heading into our peak time at both Cardrona and Treble Cone, with the July school holidays kicking off for some Australian states this weekend. If you have a Saver season pass or an Earlybird multi-day pass, this Sunday (July 3rd) is the last day you can use these passes ahead of our July blackout period. If you would like to ski/snowboard during that time, you can pick up a day pass online or at any of our ticketing locations.
We know the next three weeks or so it's going to be fairly busy up both mountains, so here are a couple of tips from our team to make your time on the slopes even more enjoyable:
We're so stoked to be welcoming back many families these July holidays. It's epic to see so many kids getting into skiing and snowboarding and we love that we're a part of that for ski families!
The team at SnowsBest.com are calling a few small snow showers over the next couple of days, which should help keep things topped up! Remember to bring plenty of layers, especially if you're bringing up littlies.
Join our Facebook Snow Reports Group or load up the website Snow Report from 6.30am daily to see what conditions are doing each day.
Treble Cone opened with an almighty bang last Friday, and it's been skiing and riding really well ever since, with a couple of sneaky powder days stoking out the crew up there.
It's probably best to let the photos do the talking, so here's a shot of Jessie Violet on Tuesday:
And this one of Stef Zeestraten:
The first Ngā Wāhine ō te Maunga (Women of the Mountain) is on tomorrow! We can't wait to welcome a bunch of women of all ages and abilities to ski and snowboard as a group, with instructors, and with some of NZ's best female riders.
Our next event after that is the McPark Double Down - a rail jam at the bottom of McDougall's on July 9th. It's going to be an absolute blast for spectators and competitors, so make sure you come up to check it out!
The Cardrona Mountain Bikes on Snow presented by Torpedo7 was another year of mayhem, laughs, speed and wipeouts as the riders battled it out on the course underneath McDougall's. Don't believe us? Check out the GoPro recap here:
The North Face Cardrona Park Crew have been tickling up the features in both McPark 4.0 and Lil' Bucks - watch this space for their next builds in Stag Lane and Antlers Alley!
This is your weekly reminder that our food and beverage outlets could look quite different this year, but the food will still be delicious, we promise! From one day to the next there may be different offerings in each outlet (depending on staffing levels, isolation requirements etc), so your patience and understanding is really appreciated by us and our team.
The legends at Roti Bros have come up the mountain, selling curry-themed roti pie deliciousness - you'll find them downstairs from Snow Sports HQ on the patio outside Base Cafe. Want a space to eat your own lunch? Head to the Noodle Bar, which is open as a warm and dry space for you to do so. Please remember our landfill-free policy and think about the packaging your food comes in, and take any waste you have home with you.
Have you seen All In yet? It's our short documentary about women in Snow Sports - you can watch it here:
